Communications
This online training course addresses aspects related to communications as it relates to System Operations and maintaining the reliability of the Bulk Electric System. Topics covered in this course include: major keys to assist in good communications, obstacles that lead to poor communications, elements related to good logging practices, tools for communications in System Operations, and components of data exchange used in operating the electric system.
Module Objectives:
- Identify the keys to assist in good communications
- Explain the obstacles that lead to poor communications
- Identify the elements of good logging practices
- Identify the tools for communications in System Operations
- Describe the components of data exchange used in operating the electric system
Each lesson area in this course is culminated with a review and a quiz. Upon completion of the course, there is a final assessment that consists of 10 questions. Individuals must attain a passing grade of 70% on the final assessment in order to be awarded the appropriate NERC CEHs.
This class is intended for: new operators to the system, experienced personnel working in a real-time System Operation environment, and those individuals who have coordination and communication responsibilities that could impact real-time Bulk Electric System operation.
